Client Overview

An industry dominant e-learning services provider, catering to students from K-2 to post secondary education

Business challenges

The client wanted an enterprise solution that was compatible to 10,000 user loads.  The solution also required to support over 8000 students who take assignments or assessments concurrently. Client also wanted to be able to view the progress report of students from K-2 to post secondary courses, anytime mid-year.

GSS America solution

The client selected GSS America for solution implementation, right from conception to completion. GSSA defined the testing architecture and the automation framework, based on which solutions were provided to the application layer, business layer and database layer. GSSA helped the client meet its business needs, by providing an end-to-end solution that did not impact the quality of delivery.

Methodology

GSSA studied the issues at the application level and at the database level. At the application level, slow response times and excess processing times were fixed through lesser usage of objects and reducing trips to database, respectively. The issue of frequent database trips was solved by swapping of information. At the database level, GSSA optimized queries and indexes and removed database deadlocks.
